Palo Alto, California —— Braden Bishop is at it again.
The reigning Baseball Census Minor League Baseball Player of the Year for 2017, the Seattle Mariners outfielder had hinted to us a few weeks ago that his offseason was going to be marked by an even bigger push out into the community beyond his already impressive work on behalf of Alzheimer’s disease research funding — and now, it looks like that activist push is here.
Earlier this week, Braden Bishop and his foundation fighting Alzheimer’s, 4MOM, announced a partnership with Progressive Motion Physical Therapy in northern California to host the 1st Annual Toy Drive benefitting the Ronald McDonald House at Stanford.
The toy drive itself will take place in Menlo Park, California, on Monday, December 18th — anyone in the area on Monday is welcome to show up that day to Progressive Motion Physical Therapy Clinic at 3475 Edison Way, Suite H in Menlo Park with new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages that will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Palo Alto.
If you’re not in the area, though, you can still get involved — the Seattle Mariners prospect and his fundraising partners have created a GoFundMe page to raise money from all around the world from those wishing to help the toy drive even if they’re far from the Bay Area. All of the donations taken from their GoFundMe fundraiser will be used towards purchasing toys for the drive benefitting Ronald McDonald House. Their initial $500 goal was surpassed in less than two days, and all surplus will still be put towards the toy drive.

As if Braden Bishop hadn’t already been doing enough out in the community this year, a holiday toy drive seems like a good way to end what wound up being a remarkable year for the Seattle Mariners prospect, both personally and professionally.
