Prospect: Mitchell Sancier
Position: Catcher
Organization: Santa Barbara City College
Height/Weight: 6’0”, 190 lbs.
Bats/Throws: R/R
Age/DOB: Sophomore (Two-Year)
Acquired/Hometown: Campbell, CA (Westmont HS)

April 23 — Well-built, thick kid; good natural strength; already showing decent power at the plate. Having a good 2018 season offensively for Santa Barbara City College; strong with some bat speed and decent barrel skills perfect to produce consistent hard contact. Good leverage through his core and lower half that helps drive the ball. Size and feel to continue to produce hard contact at a higher level; will hit the ball in the air with authority, particularly to his pull side … Timed 4.27 and 4.28 up the line from the RHH box in my April look; 4.56 on the turn at first base there, too … Behind the plate, timed 2.02, 2.04, and 2.05 on game pop times to second base; decent arm strength with good accuracy to targets. Times will improve as footwork and transfer becomes quicker and cleaner. Decent athlete for a catcher with good size for durability; Mitchell Sancier will prove to be a nice four-year add after his time in Santa Barbara ends.
