Chase Wallace Scouting Report & Game Video

Position: RHP
Height/Weight: 6’2”, 195 lbs.
Bats/Throws: R/R
Birthdate: November 13, 1998
Hometown: Sevierville, Tenn.
School: University of Tennessee
FV (20-80): N/A (Role TBD)
MLB ETA: N/A

Dates Observed: June 20, 2018

Team/Organization: Santa Barbara Foresters (California Collegiate League)
League/Level: College summer baseball
Scouting Notes: Three-quarters relief look with closed-off landing spot, cross-body release that gets some deception and plenty of pitch life to the plate; hides the ball well from RHH, will jump on guys there with some emergency swings. Sat 88-92 with heavy, sinking fastball in this mid-June look while pitching for the Foresters; paired it with a 78-80 sweeping slider and a 77-79 changeup (rarely used in short look). Lots of natural movement/pitch life; ground ball machine down in the zone with ability to really get a heavy fastball in on RHH. Timed 1.45 – 1.51 to the plate with runner on first. Lacks real wipeout stuff and velo at present, but real gamer with closing experience on a large stage in the SEC. Certainly some upside here with lively repertoire, habit of attacking hitters; eligible for 2020 MLB Draft and could show enough by then to land on a few pref lists.
