Hunter Breault Scouting Report & Game Video

Position: RHP
Height/Weight: 6’2”, 200 lbs.
Bats/Throws: R/R
Birthdate: N/A
Hometown: Kapolei, Haw.
School: University of Oregon
FV (20-80): N/A (Role TBD)

Dates Observed: June 20, 2018

Team/Organization: Santa Barbara Foresters (California Collegiate League)
League/Level: College summer baseball
Scouting Notes: Good relief arm who showed out very well in my mid-June look here; three-quarters gun slinger with considerable horizontal rotation in trunk through release; plenty of pitch life on entire repertoire which makes him tough to square up, particularly for RHH. Sat 85-90 with his fastball, a heavy, running, sinking pitch that bore in on RHH with late, sharp life; paired it with an 80-81 changeup and a 74-77 slider. Changeup is OK; definitely a third pitch right now. Slider shows good, late horizontal life with some promising depth, especially considering arm angle/ lack of natural downward plane; slider tunnels to fastball well and plays off it with some success. Promising young arm who won’t be MLB Draft eligible until 2020; would love to see more of Hunter Breault between now and then; shot to be a high-leverage pro reliever one day soon, assuming inevitable velo/pitch life improvements to develop into real power sinker/slider look.
