Miles Sandum Scouting Report & Game Video

Position: LHP
Height/Weight: 6’4”, 220 lbs.
Bats/Throws: L/L
Birthdate: July 2, 1997
Hometown: Apple Valley, Calif.
School: University of San Diego
FV (20-80): N/A (Role TBD)
MLB ETA: N/A

Dates Observed: June 20, 2018

Team/Organization: Santa Barbara Foresters (California Collegiate League)
League/Level: College summer baseball
Scouting Notes: Tall, thick frame with OK natural strength; not a ton of room to grow, but will get stronger with age and tighten up a little bit … Fastball sat 85-89 in my look here; curveball 76-77; changeup 77-80. Timed 1.58 – 1.62 with a runner on first base … High three-quarters release with subtle, late arm-side life back to his fastball; generally good downward plane from release and height, plays up particularly when commanded down in the zone … Curveball is a tight spinner with good depth, 12-to-6 action with some command feel to both sides … Short, no-nonsense inning of work; scouts in attendance had clear interest in Miles Sandum in this outing, but I need to see a little bit more of him later this summer or at USD next spring to really grade out a future.
