Meet The Baseball Census Staff
Below is the group of people that make up Baseball Census—writers, photographers, and general baseball lovers covering college and minor league baseball prospects and giving you the deepest insight into the future stars of Major League Baseball.
Bobby DeMuro — founder / staff editor
The founder of Baseball Census and a longtime baseball prospect staff writer and evaluator for several different outlets, Bobby DeMuro mostly runs the show over here. If you’re interested in him, you can read more about him on this page; the cliff notes version goes as such: based in Los Angeles, Bobby writes features and longform interview pieces as well as in-depth scouting reports, and he’s responsible for most of the staff scouting reports you’ll see in the early iteration of this site.
He predominantly covers the California League, the Pacific Coast League, the Arizona League, the Arizona Fall League, and spring training from the Cactus League, although he also makes several trips back east each year, and also covers independent league baseball and college baseball in and around southern California. He played Division I college baseball at Davidson College from 2005-08, and yes, he does have a Baseball Reference page.

Cameron Goeldner — staff writer / features writer
Cameron Goeldner is a native of Boulder, Colorado and currently a student at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Since 2015, he’s been a staff writer for the well-regarded SB Nation site Purple Row, where he covers the Colorado Rockies and their minor league affiliates and prospects.
Based in Albuquerque, Cam will cover the Pacific Coast League for Baseball Census as well as some select coverage of the University of New Mexico‘s baseball team and their Mountain West Conference opponents. You’ll find him predominantly writing interviews and features, while also contributing some staff scouting reports on Triple-A and college baseball talent.

Nick Stephens — staff writer / features writer
Based in Salt Lake City, Nick Stephens has several years’ experience writing about professional baseball with both SB Nation and FanRag Sports, where his work has focused mainly on Major League Baseball analysis and game day content, as well as occasional reports on the prospects that litter the Triple-A Pacific Coast League and the rookie-level Pioneer League near his home.
For Baseball Census, Nick will provide feature pieces and interviews on minor leaguers in both the PCL and the Pioneer League, predominantly working to cover the rookie-level circuit every summer and tell the stories of those most recently drafted each year. From time to time, he’ll also contribute some staff scouting reports on talent, and provide spring training coverage each March, to boot.

Matt Lewis — photographer / videographer
An accomplished music composer, videographer, film editor, graphic artist, and documentary filmmaker, Matt Lewis is best known as Bobby DeMuro’s college roommate back from their days at Davidson. Lewis has worked on many different film projects in his career in TV and movie production, including directing and producing documentaries like Are We There Yet?, Cagri Goes To America, Skid Row Tuesdays, and as a staff producer on several Funny Or Die skits. You can view his IMDb page here.
Based in Portland, Oregon, Matt will predominantly help Baseball Census with photography and videography work at minor league games in the Pacific Northwest through the Pacific Coast League and the Northwest League.
He doesn’t believe in Twitter, but you can view some of his exceptional digital media work here.
