Donovan Casey, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers

Showed off a very strong arm in from deep left field; great velo and carry on throw to make play at the plate close (but safe). Some tail to his ball that he needs to account for to improve accuracy, though; enough arm strength for right, it’d seem; pretty good overall athlete out there, as well.

Pretty solid foot speed out of the box and up the base line; 4.14, 4.14, and 4.18 up the line from the RHH box; 4.55 on the turn at first base … Not necessarily over-aggressive, but loves to hack; really hacking a lot, getting his money’s worth on each hack. Good bat speed, attacks the ball. Trying to hit everything he sees. Sustainable? Bears watching later; in context of his draft selection, Donovan Casey could prove to be a real steal for the Los Angeles Dodgers, but he needs to produce in age-22 season in Cal League after being challenged with a big promotion for his first full pro season.
