Legends Baseball Academy and Baseball Census are proud to announce a new college summer baseball venture set to begin in the summer of 2020. (Looking for our High School Showcase League, instead? Keep scrolling down for that, or CLICK HERE!)
Legends Indoor College Summer League is a six-week long live at-bat indoor wood bat season held at Legends Baseball Academy in Pasadena, California. Players show up once per week on their designated day, beginning the week of Monday, June 29, 2020 at 7:30 pm PT.
Pitchers face live hitters once per week in a controlled, competitive environment. Hitters receive at least ten live at-bats per weekly session along with a second cage with BP swings, front toss, side toss, and tee work in between. Every player receives a full video and Rapsodo/HitTrax data of themselves competing at the end of the six-week session.
Local college baseball players and (select) high school seniors (by invitation only) are invited to participate in the college summer league. Below you’ll find more information, including answers to all your questions and a link to register. Hurry, though, because spaces are limited and filling up fast. And again, if you’re a high school baseball player in SoCal looking for our High School Showcase League instead, please keep scrolling down, or CLICK HERE.
For College Baseball Players This Summer…
» Six-week-long live at-bat indoor season; once-per-week sessions begin Monday, June 29, 2020 at 7:30 pm PT.
» The entire season takes place at Legends Baseball Academy: 369 S. Fair Oaks Avenue, Pasadena, CA, 91105
» Weekly sessions on either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights — live pitchers vs live hitters, full game speed.
» All SoCal-area college baseball players (NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA, NWAC) are eligible, along with select high school seniors BY INVITATION ONLY. (High School Baseball Players: keep scrolling down for access to register for our High School Showcase League this summer!)
» All live at-bats captured on high-definition video cameras. Edited season-long videos are provided to every player after the final week of the season.
» Rapsodo units are up collecting data for pitchers during the live ABs, with HitTrax running to collect exit velocities, launch angles, and more for hitters in every at-bat. As with video, data is provided to every player after the season.
» Social distancing protocols in place — limited contact, small groups, physical spacing. Disinfectant protocols in place at the facility. Face masks required.
College Pitchers $250.00
Pitchers are expected to be able to throw either one or two 25-pitch live sessions — max 50 pitches total — to hitters on their designated night, once per week, off a pro-grade clay mound. You’ll face five hitters (or 25 pitches max), sit for a break, and then have the option to face a second group of five hitters if desired. As of right now, our weeknight times are filled and we are currently adding pitchers for a Wednesday afternoon 3:00 pm group ONLY.
Pitchers must have the ability and time to ramp up their throwing load safely between now and the end of June in order to compete in the live at-bats. It does look like we’ll be able to hold two bullpen sessions in mid-June for pitchers, as well, in order to get you some work off the mound before going live against hitters the week of the 29th, but we want pitchers ready to compete (and stay healthy) when our start date rolls around. Pitchers can register here:
College Hitters $400.00
Hitters, we are SOLD OUT! Hitters will receive at least ten (likely more) live at-bats off pitchers on their designated night once per week. We’ll also have a second cage up for hitters to get BP swings in between live rounds — front toss, side toss, tee work, etc. Hitters must swing wood bats (or composite). Catchers are expected to be able to help catch pitchers in live sessions other than their own hitting group.
Because we have sold out all of our hitters spots for Monday – Thursday nights, we have opened up a wait list (first come, first serve) for hitters interested in joining the indoor league if anybody drops out. In addition to potential dropouts, if we get enough guys on the wait list anyways, we will open extra days and times for new sessions, as well. Joining the wait list costs nothing (no money down, no pre-payment), so if you’re serious about playing in the league if an open spot comes up, please register ASAP at the wait list link here:

See you this summer!
We are very proud to introduce the Legends Indoor Summer High School Showcase League, meant specifically for college-quality high school baseball prospects in southern California! High-end high school baseball players from the classes of 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 are eligible to join for a six-week indoor season of competitive live at-bats in July and August.
Legends Indoor Summer High School Showcase League
The high school league has three Friday sessions (1:00 pm, 4:00 pm, or 7:00 pm), and lasts for six weeks beginning on Friday, July 10, 2020 (July 10, July 17, July 24, July 31, August 7, and August 14). We’re offering high school prospects the exact same product as the college league — same price, same general format, roughly the same number of live at-bats, and a final recruiting video and full Rapsodo/HitTrax data sent to each participant at the conclusion of the league. All social distancing protocols will be followed during this showcase league, as well.
High school prospects: pick your applicable position (pitcher, hitter, or two-way guy) and register below. We will be vetting prospects with current high school or club team coaches to ensure quality and to maintain a competitive environment. Payment can be made via Venmo to Legends Baseball Academy owner Al Quintana (Venmo username @Alberto-Quintana-10), or you can bring cash or check (payable to ‘Legends Baseball Academy’) on your first Friday session on July 10, 2020.
H.S. Pitchers ($250.00)
Pitchers are expected to be able to throw two 25-pitch live sessions — max 50 pitches total — to hitters during their designated time, once per week, off a pro-grade clay mound. You’ll face five hitters (or 25 pitches max), sit for a break, and then have the option to face a second group of five hitters if desired. Pitchers are scheduled to throw to catchers, and we’ll have several catchers in each session to take turns catching pitchers live.
H.S. Hitters ($400.00)
Hitters will receive at least ten (and likely more) live at-bats off pitchers during their designated group time on Friday. We’ll also have a second cage up for hitters to get BP swings in between live rounds — front toss, side toss, tee work, etc. Hitters can swing wood bats (or composite) or metal bats, so long as they meet high school competition standards. Catchers are expected to be able to catch pitchers in addition to hitting.
H.S. Two-Way Guys ($500.00)
Ideally, two-way guys will be available for two sessions (i.e., pitch during the 1:00 pm session and hit during the 4:00 pm session), though we can have you do both in one session if timing is an issue. Obviously, you may miss a couple live at-bats while you’re warming up and pitching in this scenario, but we’ll have enough room to make the most of it for guys wanting live reps in both roles who are only available for one session.
We look forward to watching you compete live this summer!
